DedSpace Proposals for 2012!

Welcome to DedSpace 2012!

The new directors (Michael Filocamo, Navid Ghezelayagh and Fleur Wiber) are really excited about getting DedSpace up and running again this year.

We will be having fortnightly shows which will be starting ASAP so send your proposals in along with a 200-300 word artist statement-

Bite the Moon - An installation work with live music by Maryke McGrath and Rhia Parker. Featuring live music with electronics and projections, the installation explores the grotesque, disturbing and quirky side of nocturnal life.
Maryke McGrath completed her honors thesis and major work in 2010 on the grotesque in the domestic space. She is currently undertaking post-graduate studies in Art Curatorship while continuing work on her own projects.Rhia Parker graduated with first class honours from Sydney Conservatorium of Music in 2009 after completing her thesis and corresponding recitals on electroacoustic recorder music. She is currently focusing on improvisation with live electronics and recently returned from performing a solo show the Adelaide Fringe Festival. Bigfoot, also known as Sasquatch, is purportedly an ape-like cryptid that inhabits forests, mainly in the Pacific Northwest region of North America. Bigfoot is usually described as a large, hairy, bipedal humanoid. The term “Sasquatch” is an anglicized derivative of the word “Sésquac” which means “wild man” in a Salish Native American language.SCASSQUATCH is a group show of works from students in the Sydney College of the Arts Student Society (SCASS).
